We are having a school-wide contest (preschool through sixth grade) to see which class can be most involved with Scrip. Below is how the contest will be run, and below are some hints to making the contest easy for you, the parent. At the end are some answers to common questions about the contest.
1. Five hundred points once a week for the class with the highest percentage of class participation (with a minimum purchase of $4.00 in Scrip profits/percentage for each student).
2. Fifty points every two weeks for each student if his/her family brings in the two week Scrip goal. ($16.70 in Scrip profits/percentage for two weeks). These points will be averaged out to level the playing field between large and small classes.
3. We’ll keep a scoreboard in the front lobby, and each Monday morning we’ll update it. The contest will run through the end of the school year, with a winning class being announced every four weeks.

Questions and Answers
Why does the scoring of the contest seem so confusing?
We’ve tried hard to make it simple, but we know the whole percentage/profit thing is confusing. Simply said, the classes get points for the number of families who participate, and they get points for meeting the
two-week goal.
Can the Scrip purchased for the weekly points also be used in the two-week points?
Yes!
What if I have already met my $300 goal for the year, do I have to participate?
No, and we thank you for being a HUGE Scrip supporter, BUT, since you are an expert Scrip purchaser we want to ENCOURAGE you to participate anyway (please!).
Is there a “Buy Out” option and will my “Buy Out” be counted in the contest?
Yes and Yes. If you want to simply write us a check each week for $8.35 your children and their class will receive their full points. P.S. You know, this is the “chicken” way out! Come on, where’s the competitive spirit?!?
If I take the “Buy Out” option, will this take care of my Scrip responsibility for the year?
We’ve asked each family to raise $300 in Scrip profits/percentages (pro-rated for families starting after September). For some families, the “Buy Out” will help, but not cover the entire responsibility. If you write a check each week for $8.35 for the rest of the school year, you will raise $167. So, it depends on how much Scrip you have purchased up to this date.
What if I have two or more children?
Each Scrip purchase will be counted for each of your children. In other words, your $16.70 every two weeks will count for each of your children in each class.
What if this whole Scrip thing is a hassle and I don’t want to be involved?
Tuition only covers a portion of your child’s teachers salary, mortgage payment, utilities, insurance, and supplies. We are dependent on Scrip to balance the books. In other words, we can’t exist without Scrip. We understand it is a hassle, but for the sake blessing your child’s teacher and the other bills, please support Scrip and please understand why we require it. Did we mention we have a “no-hassle-buy-out” option?!?
